Tips to IELTS Writing

 

Before the Writing Test – Academic and General Training

 

  1.  Follow the time limit.  Try to practice writing within the time limits. Do practice activities.

  2. You have to do writing practice according to the word limit. Part 1 requires you to write 150 words and in Part 2 you have to write 250 words.

  3. For Part 1 Academic Writing please make use of the resources on the Internet to study graphs, charts, and tables.

  4. You have to quite sure about the basics of grammar and vocabulary of KET, PET and FCE levels.  

 

During the Writing Test – Academic and General Training

 

  1.  Read the task question carefully and make sure you understand what it asks you to do.

  2. Never copy complete sentences from the task.

  3.  Before you start writing you can make notes in abbreviated form. Your writing must have complete sentences and paragraphs. Never use bullet points in your writing.

  4. Please follow the three-step method – plan, write and revise.
